Charles Rennie Mackintosh

b. 07.06.1868 d. 10.12.1968

Mackintosh, my main inspiration for visiting Glasgow and I have to say, especially after seeing some of his work one of my favourite architects. Mackintosh, a Glaswegian architect, famous not only for his architecture but also for his furniture design, painting and textile design with his wife Margaret.

I hope you enjoy the posts I have written so far about Mackintosh. I fully intend to return to Glasgow as I found his work so inspiring and there is so much to see. It’s unusual to see so much of one architect in one place and although Mackintosh has designed buildings outside of Glasgow the majority of his work lies within this city which in my opinion is what turns Glasgow from a great city into a wonderful city.
